But let me tell you, after years in design, those three words "My favourite colour is [X]" have become the silent terror of any branding consultation. The logo is often the first visual handshake your company has with a potential customer. If that first impression is driven by personal taste rather than strategy, you're missing a massive opportunity to connect. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐š๐ฌ Your logo is not a painting for your living room; itโ€™s the hardest-working piece of marketing collateral you will ever own. While all design is subjective to some degree, branding must be objective. Choosing a colour based on a director's personal bias over market insight can sabotage the entire brand launch.   • This is @seanpopegeraghty - the American half of @spiel.media. And while I'm not celebrating a traditional Thanksgiving today, I will let you know what I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for living in Ireland and especially Kilkenny. Initially, the people I met thought I was mad for leaving sunny California to live in the "Sunny South East" of Ireland. But nearly eight years into my living here, and everybody sees the absolute madness of life in America, they get it when I say that weather isn't everything. I've made some great friends and met the loveliest Irish lass (@jeanneodwyer77) I could imagine. I'm thankful for my family that have not only supported me my entire life, but especially these last 10 years. Starting with the death of my wife, then relocating thousands of miles away to a place where I barely knew anybody, to keeping me sane through COVID, and being generous not only when I stay in California, but when my friends do too. I include Brownie and Linc as my family as they have certainly kept me active, entertained and grounded. I'm thankful for the friends I've made in Ireland. Especially the partnership I have with @alanjarmitage here at Spiel Media. Because of that partnership I've been able to keep building websites, make videos and promote companies on platforms like this. Here are the companies that have helped to keep me fed, warm and otherwise pay my bills so I can continue to stay in this amazing country! @herbsofmexico @thevillageccs @abcbingo.ie @ryansbarkk @christysbar22 @darloenterprises @toptowaggytails @karenhickeyid @callan_autos @ashgrove_bespoke_cabinetry_ As I said, I'm not observing a traditional Thanksgiving of a huge meal with family. This is @seanpopegeraghty - the American half of @spiel.media. And while I'm not celebrating a traditional Thanksgiving today, I will let you know what I'm thankful for. I'm thankful for living in Ireland and especially Kilkenny. Initially, the people I met thought I was mad for leaving sunny California to live in the "Sunny South East" of Ireland. But nearly eight years into my living here, and everybody sees the absolute madness of life in America, they get it when I say that weather isn't everything. I've made some great friends and met the loveliest Irish lass (@jeanneodwyer77) I could imagine. I'm thankful for my family that have not only supported me my entire life, but especially these last 10 years. Starting with the death of my wife, then relocating thousands of miles away to a place where I barely knew anybody, to keeping me sane through COVID, and being generous not only when I stay in California, but when my friends do too. I include Brownie and Linc as my family as they have certainly kept me active, entertained and grounded. I'm thankful for the friends I've made in Ireland.
