While our focus currently includes strategic branding projects like Belclare Advisory Services LLC-FZ, it’s always inspiring to look back at the strategic foundations of my own career.

Way back in my early days as a freelance Graphic Designer, when "colour outputs" meant grabbing the colouring pencils 🖍️, I had the privilege of creating a logo for a local Kilkenny institution: O 'Dwyer Insurance on Patrick Street. The company was led by Jack O 'Dwyer at the time, and many local to Kilkenny will certainly remember them.

This project taught me that 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒚 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚. The focus was always on clear communication.

The logo is a simple, abstract motif combining the three initials: O, D, and i for O 'Dwyer Insurance. I added a slab serif and an angled ascender on the 'd' to give the motif a subtle Irish feel.

I used three "i" elements to symbolize the client-business relationship of Security, Protection, and Support, with the central, highlighted 'i' representing the client or individual at the heart of their service. The chosen colors of deep Maroon/Burgundy and Gold were selected to evoke feelings of warmth, security, and trust, essential values for an insurance broker.

We recently partnered with Belclare Advisory Services LLC-FZ to roll out their fresh new logo and website. Belclare is an independent consultancy with strong Irish roots and a base in Dubai, operating out of the Meydan Free Zone in the UAE.

The name Belclare holds a deep, personal meaning for founder Adrian Beattie, whose roots are Westport, Co. Mayo, home to the iconic Croagh Patrick. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬: 𝐀 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 by Alan Armitage While our focus currently includes strategic branding projects like Belclare Advisory Services LLC-FZ, it’s always inspiring to look back at the strategic foundations of my own career. Way back in my early days as a freelance Graphic Designer, when "colour outputs" meant grabbing the colouring pencils 🖍️, I had the privilege of creating a logo for a local Kilkenny institution: O 'Dwyer Insurance on Patrick Street. The company was led by Jack O 'Dwyer at the time, and many local to Kilkenny will certainly remember them. This project taught me that 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒚 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒖𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚. The focus was always on clear communication. The logo is a simple, abstract motif combining the three initials: O, D, and i for O 'Dwyer Insurance. I added a slab serif and an angled ascender on the 'd' to give the motif a subtle Irish feel. I used three "i" elements to symbolize the client-business relationship of Security, Protection, and Support, with the central, highlighted 'i' representing the client or individual at the heart of their service. The chosen colors of deep Maroon/Burgundy and Gold were selected to evoke feelings of warmth, security, and trust, essential values for an insurance broker.
